On Saturday July 19 the Windsor Printmaker’s Forum hosted a free screen printing event for the public, printing images onto t-shirts and other clothing items for an enthusiastic crowd of both old friends of the Forum and first-time visitors. Members Jodi Green, Victor Romão and Patty McCoy inked up and washed out screens countless times in an all-day whirlwind of printing fun.

Here’s Victor mixing ink while some of our friends look on.
Some of the shirts we printed, modeled by our happy (and photogenic!) customers:

The bobolink, Windsor’s newest resident!

The design below is especially nice: we first printed a circle of little dots with a split fountain technique so that it gradually changed from yellow to red, then topped it off with Windsor wildflowers in blue. We like this one so much we might just print a few for ourselves before we wash the images off our screens.

Windsor Printmaker’s Forum invites you to join us for our Annual Members’ Exhibition opening reception, taking place on Friday, July 17 from 4pm to 9pm in conjunction with the Walkerville Art Walk. WPF, along with 30 other neighbourhood businesses, will be open late into the evening to celebrate the arts in Old Walkerville. Come by the studio gallery and view new works by Windsor artists, enjoy some snacks, and have your Art Walkerville pass stamped to enter to win a night’s stay on Boblo Island.

But wait, there’s more! As part of the Walkerville Art Walk festivities on Saturday, July 18, WPF is hosting a t-shirt printing party in the studios. Bring your own shirt or other garment, or buy one from us (supplies very limited), and have it printed for free (or print it yourself!). This event is free and open to all. It’s going to be tons of fun and we hope to see you there!
